What is needed to open an ACU Business Account?

Below is a list of documents by entity type that are required to open a business account. If you have questions whether an item applies to your business or how to get a certain document, contact ACU and we will go over the list with you to ensure your business account opening process is as smooth as possible.

We encourage calling ahead to set up an appointment with the ACU Branch nearest you to make the most of your valuable time.

Business Account Required Documentation:

  • Sole Proprietorship
    • Business License
    • SSN or EIN
    • Government issued photo Identification for each authorized signer
  • Partnership
    • Certificate of Formation (LP, LLP only, not applicable for general partnership)
    • Partnership Agreement with list of partners
    • Meeting Minutes or Partnership Resolution (Must designate account opening Government issued photo Identification for each authorized signer
  • Limited Liability Company
    • Certificate of Formation
    • Business License
    • EIN (SSN for sole member LLC is acceptable option)
    • LLC Operating Agreement with list of all members (signed by all members)
    • LLC Resolution (Must designate account opening at ACU and list all authorized signers, signed by all members)
    • Government issued photo Identification for each authorized signer
  • Corporation
    • Certificate of Incorporation
    • Business License
    • EIN
    • Corporate Bylaws
    • Meeting Minutes showing currently elected officers
    • Meeting Minutes or Corporate Resolution (Must designate account opening at ACU and list all authorized signers, signed by corporate officer(s))
    • Government issued photo Identification for each authorized signer
  • Nonprofit Corporation
    • Certificate of Incorporation
    • Business License (if applicable)
    • EIN
    • Nonprofit Bylaws
    • Meeting Minutes showing currently elected officers
    • Meeting Minutes or Corporate Resolution (Must designate account opening at ACU and list all authorized signers, signed by officer(s))
    • Government issued photo Identification for each authorized signer
  • Organization/Club
    • Meeting Minutes stating authorized officer’s names, terms of office and powers/duties to conduct banking services in behalf of the organization
    • Organization Bylaws if available
    • EIN and State-issued UBI (if state-required)
    • Government issued photo Identification for each authorized signer
