DESCRIPTION:Read Around Lacey is a literacy program that is part of Lacey Loves to Read Month and is open to all elementary students (K-5) within the Nor.th Thurston Public School district\, including private school and home school students. To take part in Read Around Lacey\, students must visit a minimum of six participating businesses listed on the Read Around Lacey Map. The students then must read a short writing sample or a page from a book to a business representative. Once done\, the representative will share insight about the importance of reading and writing with the student.

SUMMARY:Night Stalker Association's 15th annual Golf Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Through fund-raising activities\, such as NSA’s annual Golf Tournament\, the NSA facilitate donations that provide assistance to Soldiers and their families that go beyond the help provided through official military agencies. The NSA relies on membership dues\, profits from sales of Night Stalker memorabilia\, fund-raisers\, and donations to continuously operate and provide valuable services.\nEach year\, the NSA provides over $250\,000 in grants\, loans\, and scholarships. This includes $25\,000 annually from the NSA-W to Night Stalkers and their families right here in Western Washington. Grants are used for various emergencies including travel for parents to be with a hospitalized child or expenses incurred with a terminally ill child. Loans are offered to Soldiers who have fallen into financial difficulty. The NSA is also dedicated to inspiring Soldiers and their families to achieve excellence through higher education. If you have not had a chance to attend the car sale in the past\, it’s a great place to be if you are ready to make a good deal. The cars and trucks available are hand-picked and priced to move. There will also be food and drinks to keep shoppers comfortable as well as sales people and ACU Finance to help move things along smoothly\, once you find your perfect ride. \nThe weekend kicks off on Friday\, July 22\, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm for a special Military Preview where our service members and veterans have the opportunity to shop the night before the sale starts. Then it’s Saturday the 23rd\, from 9:00am to 8:00pm\, and Sunday the 24th\, from 10:00am to 7:00pm. \nBeing a member with ACU has always been about more than money. Sharing the joy of a first car purchase\, or getting approved to upgrade to a larger car is precisely that – an experience that transcends money. For our members\, it’s the freedom of driving on the highway to new destinations\, or picking up your kids’ friends for soccer practice.
