The 1K starts at 10:45 a.m.\, followed by the 11-Miler\, 11K and 5K at 11 a.m.\, along with entertainment and activities for the family! \n11-Miler\, 11K & 5K \n\nCost: $36\nE-1 to E-4: $30\n\n1.1K \n\nCost: $12\nE-1 to E-4: $10\n\nOnline registration closes Tuesday\, Nov. 7. Day of Race registration will take place onsite between 8:45-9:45 a.m. All three courses are mainly flat\, out-and-back courses on Lewis North.\nPacket pickup will take place on Lewis North inside the Wilson Sports & Fitness Center (11596 D St.) on Friday\, Nov. 10\, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (or day of 8:45-9:45 a.m.) \nPackets will consist of the following: \n\nEvent T-Shirt\nCustom Bib\n\nParticipants will receive a custom medal after they cross the finish line!\nParticipants who register by Oct. 20 will be guaranteed a T-shirt at packet pickup. DESCRIPTION:Race For a Soldier is presented by the Permission To Start Dreaming Foundation to raise awareness of the challenges faced by our military service members\, veterans and first responders living with the effects of Post Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injuries. The Foundation has delivered Mind\, Body and Spirit workshops; courage and leadership summits; eliminated barriers for veterans to receive equine therapy and counseling; facilitates the Warrior PATHH training program; and peer to peer support meetings called “Huddles” in Tacoma\, Gig Harbor\, and soon in Bremerton. \nThe Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation is committed to finding the best tools and training to enhance the mind\, body and spiritual wellbeing of our nation’s veterans\, first responders and their family members. We believe they should be provided the very best programs that help restore their lives and overcome the trauma they face while serving their country and communities.
