Save Your Wallet from Heartache this Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is coming up and the pressure is on to make it a very special day for that very special someone. The good news? We’ve done the research, so you don’t have to. Here are a couple ways you can have an amazing Valentine’s Day no matter your budget!

$100 – $200

This is, on average, what people tend to spend on Valentine’s Day in the US. Why? You guessed it – a romantic dinner at a fancy restaurant. Whether it’s the Lobster Shop on Commencement Bay, or The Chef’s Experience at Pacific Grill, you can expect an excellent evening with minimal planning. Just make sure you make a reservation in advance; these hot spots tend to fill up fast on Valentine’s!

$50 – $100

If fancy restaurants aren’t your scene, try a bonding experience with a lower price tag. How about a casual dinner with a complimentary tango lesson, a truffle making class for an experience that keeps on giving, or a Boozy Hot Chocolate Bar at a local distillery? There are even a couple of family-friendly events around town that offer the added bonus of saving you the babysitter’s fee. Check Eventbrite for a complete list of affordable Valentine’s Day events in your area.

Under $50

Valentine’s Day isn’t about how much you spend, it’s about who you spend it with! So, forget the fancy outings and focus on quality time. Plan a great, low budget evening with an amazing homecooked meal, your favorite drinks, and a Redbox movie. Fill the house with a romantic glow by breaking out holiday twinkle lights. Have a fireplace? A gentle fire can give the whole house a cozy feeling. From homemade cards to fresh baked cookies, there’s tons of small gestures that will make this Valentine’s Day the best one yet!
