ACU Newsletter: Fall 2025
As autumn gives way to winter, we’re reflecting on a season filled with connection, growth, and exciting milestones for ACU.
From crisp fall days to festive gatherings, this time of year reminds us how strong and vibrant our communities are. We’ve loved seeing members come together – whether stopping by our branches, joining local events, or planning ahead for the holidays.
One of the biggest highlights? Our Tumwater Branch Grand Opening was a celebration to remember! Thank you to everyone who joined us to explore the new space and meet the team.
Financially, fall brought plenty of opportunities to prepare for what’s next. Members continued to take advantage of auto loans, savings options, and digital tools for secure and convenient payments. And as always, staying alert for scams remains key – fraudsters don’t take holidays off.
Since 1954, ACU has grown and adapted to serve you better, and this season was no exception. Thank you for being part of our journey. We’re excited to carry this momentum into the new year!
Here’s to what’s ahead – see you soon!

Your Money, Your Move: EasyVest* Your Choice
Think of investing like planting a tree – the sooner you plant, the bigger and stronger it grows. Starting in your 20s gives your money decades to multiply, which means you can invest smaller amounts and still end up with serious gains. Waiting until your 30s or 40s? That’s like showing up late to the party – you’ll need to invest way more to catch up.
Here’s the deal: time is the ultimate cheat code in investing. Every extra year you give your money to grow means more compounding magic…
Pilot for a Day
ACU is honored to continue its support of the Pilot for a Day Program, organized by the McChord Air Force Association. This inspiring initiative gives children facing health challenges the opportunity to experience life as a pilot for a day, creating unforgettable memories centered around their love of aviation.
This year’s participant was Micah Stone, a bright and courageous child who, along with his mother Melissa, enjoyed a day filled with exciting activities at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM)…
Watch Out for AI-Powered Credit Union Scams
The holidays should be about joy – not fraud. Unfortunately, scammers are getting more sophisticated, and this year they’re using artificial intelligence (AI) to impersonate bank employees and trick people into sharing sensitive information. According to the FBI, these scams have already cost victims over $262 million in 2025 alone…
Wear Blue: Capturing Honor
In partnership with the DuPont Chamber of Commerce and the City of DuPont, ACU hosted Capturing Honor in our lobby on Friday, December 12, bringing together members, families, and local leaders for an intimate showcase of images from the Wear Blue Amateur Photo Competition that reflect remembrance, connection, and community…
Romance Scams 2.0
Romance scams aren’t new – but they’ve evolved. Today’s scammers are blending emotional manipulation with financial fraud, creating a dangerous mix that can devastate victims both emotionally and financially. The latest twist? “Pig Butchering” scams, where fraudsters lure victims into fake investment schemes – often involving cryptocurrency – after weeks or months of building trust…
